About Moose Mountain Ranch

Our goal is to breed "Quality Horses with Color."
Our Four Star breeding program is based on the following criteria:

  • Quality: mares and stallions selected for conformation and pedigree
  • Color: buckskins, blacks, grullos, palominos, duns and roans
  • Disposition: intelligent, easy to work with
  • Size:  most foals will be 15.2 hands or taller

The breeding herd is made up of mares and stallions that have been selected throughout United States and Canada. The broodmares and their foals spend the summer months grazing the spacious pastures in the foothils of the Moose Mountains. The hills, combined with hard grass, good water, and clean air, produce well-muscled and healthy foals in the fall.

Animal Welfare is a Priority

Bob and Lois Brickley received the inaugural Saskatchewan Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals "Producer of the Year" award in 2000. The award recognizes producer efforts in providing a total package of humane production practices. The selection committee found the Brickley operation to be "exemplary, providing an excellent production environment along with superior animal care and comfort.
